About

Hello and welcome! I am looking forward to meeting you and the work that we will do together. I am Dr. Green, a clinical psychologist and am fully licensed in Georgia and Connecticut although through PSYPACT, I can practice in many more states. I believe in the importance of helping individuals feel as empowered and prepared as they possibly can as they meet the challenges in their own lives. I meet individuals with warmth, compassion, competence, curiosity and a genuine desire to partner with clients in meeting the goals they set for themselves. I know each person's path is their own and I am grateful to share part of their journey with them.

Education & Licensure
PhD in Clinical and Community Psychology from Georgia State University, Internship and Postdoc at Yale University Department of Psychiatry, Bachelors in Psychology and English from Georgetown University
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I seek to provide an inclusive and welcoming experience for all of my clients and understand the importance of accessing competent and compassionate care for neurodivergent clients. For so long, neurodivergence has been overlooked, misunderstood, mischaracterized and even neglected in the mental health field. I believe it is my responsibility to increase accessibility to care for neurodivergent individuals in the ways that I can. I also want clients to learn to nurture and appreciate their own resilience and ability to create lives that are meaningful, fulfilling and connected. I do not believe that a diagnosis has to be an identity. We can often shape the narratives of our lives and decide how we would like to be defined and by what. Together, we can identify the best ways you can live your life to its fullest potential.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I have spent most of my career learning, thinking, writing, teaching and talking about strengths-based care. My approach to clients reflects this orientation as I understand that each person has their own unique gifts and part of our work involves imparting tools and engaging in interventions to nurture those gifts. I actively listen to clients, attempting to meet them where they are, collaborate on goals and also provide opportunities to receive feedback within the therapeutic relationship. As a trauma specialist, I come to the work with a myriad of tools at my disposal and I think of the clinical relationship as a dynamic , evolving interaction between client and provider based on trust, mutual respect and compassionate attentiveness.
