About

Hello and welcome! I’m Dr. Neil Schwartz, a licensed psychologist in Florida specializing in neurodiversity, autism spectrum evaluations, trauma, anxiety, and mood-related concerns. I earned my PsyD from Nova Southeastern University and completed advanced trauma-focused clinical training at the Corey Thomas VA Hospital.

I am passionate about helping individuals better understand themselves and feel empowered in their daily lives. My work is grounded in creating a warm, supportive, and affirming environment where clients feel genuinely heard and respected. I primarily focus on comprehensive ASD and ADHD evaluations for adolescents and adults, using a collaborative and trauma-informed approach that recognizes each person’s unique strengths, experiences, and challenges. My goal is to help clients gain clarity, self-understanding, and practical recommendations that support meaningful growth and well-being.

Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My passion for working with autistic and neurodivergent individuals comes from a deep respect for neurodiversity and the belief that many people have spent much of their lives feeling misunderstood, overlooked, or pressured to fit expectations that do not align with who they are. Through my work in both hospital and private practice settings, I have seen how powerful it can be when individuals are given the space to better understand themselves in an affirming and supportive environment.

I am especially passionate about providing evaluations that are collaborative, compassionate, and trauma-informed. I strive to help clients recognize that their differences are not deficits, but part of a unique way of experiencing and interacting with the world. My goal is to help individuals build self-understanding, confidence, and practical insight that can improve relationships, emotional well-being, and overall quality of life.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I approach my work from an affirming and strengths-based perspective that focuses on recognizing and building upon each individual’s abilities, resilience, and unique ways of thinking. I believe meaningful care begins with listening closely to each client’s lived experiences and creating a space where they feel safe to express themselves authentically without judgment.

In both therapy and assessment work, I aim to highlight patterns of strength while also helping clients better understand areas of challenge within the context of their environment, experiences, and nervous system. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and individualized, with an emphasis on helping clients feel empowered rather than pathologized.

I strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment where clients feel seen, validated, and accepted for who they are. My goal is to help individuals move toward greater self-understanding, confidence, and fulfillment while honoring their unique identities and experiences.
