About

Hello and welcome to Prosper! I'm glad you found us. My name is Nate Wilkins. I currently live in Newtown, CT, and am licensed in Connecticut. I am also PSYPACT licensed, allowing me to see patients virtually in 40 states, through telepsychology. I am very passionate about working with diverse individuals to help them better understand themselves and explore new aspects of their identities as they develop and change. I wholeheartedly believe that the assessment process is a collaborative one, where I am walking with you through the journey of self-discovery and greater wellbeing. Creating a safe and compassionate space in the virtual assessment room is one way I aim to achieve this. I am honored to be able to support you on your unique journey to finding resilience and strength within yourself.

Education & Licensure
PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Adler University, Chicago; Bachelors in Psychology from Illinois Wesleyan University, minor in Hispanic Studies.
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My passion for working with adults on the autism spectrum and neurodivergent client stems from recognizing how often and how easy it is for neurodivergent individuals to be overlooked. This is especially true when they do not have the access or support to explore and truly understand their neurodivergence. I have worked with many different individuals on the autism spectrum, all having their own unique needs, perspectives, and strengths. I have been continually inspired by their resilience and ability to navigate challenges in life. My goal is to help clients better understand themselves, in order to be able to more smoothly maneuver through these challenges as they arise. Together, we will work towards building a life where you feel seen, secure, and capable of success.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I prioritize an affirming and strength-based approach to ensure that all clients feel validated, empowered, and comfortable to express themselves. As a Black male psychologist, I also understand that our diverse identities are not always valued in the spaces within which we live and move daily. I believe that we all have unique ways of understanding others and of expressing ourselves, and understanding both of these is paramount to helping clients reach a greater sense of agency and wellbeing in their lives. I actively listen to experiences, and provide and safe, nonjudgmental space, regardless of what clients have been through.
