About

Hello ! My name is Nancy Grau. I would like to welcome you to an opportunity to learn more about how your own uniqueness. I am a licensed psychologist in Colorado, Florida and Ohio. In the decades I have been working as an evaluator and psychotherapist with people just like you - they have found, as I hope you will, that this is a dynamic opportunity to develop a deeper understanding about the most important resource you have - YOU ! And YES, starting with someone new is scary, and sometimes anxiety-producing. I applaud you for taking this step. As a clinician, I believe in creating a safe, compassionate space where you feel truly heard and understood. My goal is to partner with you, helping you find resilience and uncover strengths as we work together through life’s challenges. Every person’s journey is unique, and I’m committed to offering care that is as individual as you are.

‍

My experience as a therapist began in New York City, working in the field of domestic violence as a therapist and advocate. Living in New York City at that time, I had the opportunity and honor to work with people of various nationalities and cultures. I completed my Doctorate in Counseling Psychology at New Mexico State University in 2000. I worked for, and directed, several community- based , not for profit agencies before I took the plunge to start my own business in 2005. I was in private practice off an on for 20 years, and since that time I have worked as a contractor in many capacities, with diverse populations.

Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

motivation for working with autistic adults stems from a deep respect for neurodiversity and a passion for fostering a space where every individual feels valued and empowered. I am inspired by the strengths, perspectives, and resilience of the autistic community, and I strive to provide support that honors each person’s unique experiences. My goal is to help clients navigate challenges, build on their strengths, and develop skills that enhance their daily lives and relationships. Together, we can work toward a life where you feel understood, supported, and able to thrive.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

prioritize an affirming and strengths-based approach to ensure that every individual feels seen, valued, and empowered. I believe that each client possesses unique strengths and abilities that can be harnessed to navigate challenges and achieve personal goals. I actively listen to their experiences and validate their feelings, creating a safe space where they can express themselves authentically.
