About

Hello and welcome! My name is Monica and I look forward to working with you. A little about me...I’m a licensed board certified psychologist currently based in Atlanta, Georgia, although I'm able to practice across multiple states through PsyPACT. I'm passionate about supporting folx on their journey to develop a clearer, more compassionate understanding of themselves and their unique ways of thinking, feeling, and navigating the world. As a Black queer woman, my identity meaningfully shapes how I show up in this work—with attentiveness to context, culture, and the many strengths people carry that are often overlooked or misunderstood. I strive to offer an affirming, respectful, and culturally responsive evaluation experience grounded in collaboration and curiosity. Thanks in advance for entrusting me with your story and lived experience!

Education & Licensure
PsyD in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology-Chicago; Master of Art in Community Counseling from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology-Chicago; Bachelors in Psychology from the University of Maryland
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My motivation for working with autistic and neurodivergent adults comes from a deep respect for the many ways people think, communicate, and make meaning of the world. Throughout my career, I have been continuously inspired by the insight, creativity, and self-awareness of neurodivergent clients, particularly those whose identities and experiences have often been misunderstood or overlooked. I am especially committed to creating spaces where difference is recognized as a strength and where people are supported in understanding themselves with clarity, dignity, and pride. My goal is to offer evaluations that not only provide answers, but also affirm each person’s unique way of being and help them move forward with confidence.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I take an affirming, strengths-based approach that centers each person’s insight, resilience, and unique way of understanding the world. As a Black queer psychologist, I am deeply attentive to how identity, culture, and lived experience shape self-knowledge and growth. My goal is to create an evaluation space where clients feel seen, respected, and supported in recognizing their strengths and building on what is already working well for them.
