About

Hello! My name is Dr. Mistie Germek and I am a licensed clinical psychologist in Tennessee.  I have been providing clinical services for over 20 years and am dedicated to guiding adults toward a clearer understanding of who they are through comprehensive testing.  My practice focuses on providing clarity, validation, diagnosis and actionable insights for autistic and neurodivergent adults in a supportive and empathic environment.

Education & Licensure
Ph.D in Counseling Psychology from University of Denver; M.A. in Counseling Psychology from University of Denver; B.A. in Secondary Education from University of Montana
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I am motivated to work with autistic adults because I have a strong passion for supporting underserved populations.  Like many people, I have a loved one who is neurodivergent and I have long been a volunteer coach for Special Olympics athletes.  Working with neurodivergent adults is something that is very close to my heart and being able to provide clarity, validation, encouragement and affirmations to this population is a privilege.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to the process of testing and diagnosis by providing a collaborative and validating environment that encourages exploration of identity and cognitive style.  This can be viewed as a partnership where we work together to learn how your brain processes information.  Through our work together, we will generate practical and strength-based recommendations for living a fulfilling life.
