About
Hello and welcome—I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Michelle Vickers, and I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who works primarily with adults through telehealth. I’m licensed in Florida and currently live here as well. I’m deeply passionate about helping people navigate life’s challenges with compassion, clarity, and a sense of empowerment. My background includes extensive experience in trauma-informed care, clinical leadership, and supporting individuals coping with anxiety, depression, life transitions, and complex stressors. As a provider, I strive to create a warm, safe, and nonjudgmental space where you feel truly heard and respected. I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and my goal is to walk alongside you—helping you build resilience, reconnect with your strengths, and move toward meaningful, lasting change at a pace that feels right for you.
My passion for working with autistic and neurodivergent adults comes from a deep respect for neurodiversity and a strong belief that differences in how we think, feel, and experience the world are not deficits—they are meaningful variations of being human. Throughout my clinical and leadership experience, I have seen how often neurodivergent individuals are misunderstood, overlooked, or expected to fit into systems that were never designed with them in mind. That realization solidified my commitment to providing affirming, strengths-based care.I am especially drawn to supporting autistic and neurodivergent adults because many have spent years masking, feeling “too much” or “not enough,” or struggling to have their needs recognized. My goal is to create a therapeutic space where you do not have to explain or justify who you are. Instead, we focus on understanding your nervous system, honoring your lived experience, and building tools that support emotional regulation, communication, self-advocacy, and well-being—without trying to change your identity.Working together, I aim to help you reconnect with your strengths, reduce burnout, and move toward a life that feels more authentic, sustainable, and aligned with who you truly are.
I bring an affirming and strengths-based approach to my work by starting with who you are, not with what needs to be “fixed.” I believe every autistic and neurodivergent individual already possesses insight, resilience, creativity, and adaptive strengths that have often gone unrecognized or underappreciated. My role is to help you identify, honor, and build upon those strengths while creating supports that work with your nervous system—not against it.In our work together, I focus on deep listening, validation, and collaboration. I take time to understand how you experience the world, what has helped you survive and succeed so far, and what feels most important to you right now. Rather than framing differences as deficits, we explore how your traits can be sources of power, clarity, and self-knowledge. When challenges arise, we approach them with curiosity and compassion, using practical tools that are flexible, individualized, and respectful of your autonomy. My approach is also trauma-informed and identity-affirming, recognizing that many neurodivergent adults have experienced chronic misunderstanding, masking, burnout, or systemic harm. I am committed to creating a therapeutic space where you can show up fully and authentically—without pressure to conform. Together, we work toward sustainable growth, self-advocacy, and a life that aligns with your values, strengths, and definition of success.
