About

Hello and welcome! I’m Dr. Michelle Rad, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. I am based in Ashburn, Virginia, and I hold an active Virginia State License as well as PSYPACT APIT® authorization, which allows me to provide interjurisdictional telepsychology services to clients in over 40 states. With over 15 years of experience, I am deeply passionate about providing evidence-based, compassionate care. My clinical journey is driven by a commitment to helping individuals navigate life's complexities through trauma-informed care and comprehensive psychological assessments. As a clinician, I believe in creating a safe, empowering space where you feel truly heard, combining the latest clinical research with your unique personal values to support your journey toward greater well-being and self-understanding.

Education & Licensure
Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) from American School of Professional Psychology; Master of Arts (M.A.) from University of Baltimore Maryland
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My motivation for working with neurodivergent individuals and those navigating complex psychological challenges stems from a deep respect for each person's unique cognitive landscape. Through my years of conducting specialized neuropsychological assessments and founding Evidence-Based Consultation, I have seen firsthand the incredible resilience and distinct strengths of the individuals I work with. I chose this path because I am passionate about moving beyond objective diagnosis; I want to foster a space where your unique perspectives are valued and empowered. My goal is to help you deeply understand yourself, build upon your inherent strengths, and thrive in a world that hasn't always accommodated your experiences.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I prioritize an affirming, strength-based approach to my work by utilizing what I call a "three-pillar framework"—blending the latest clinical research, my specialized professional expertise, and most importantly, your individual client values. Rather than solely addressing challenges, I emphasize trauma-informed care that actively uncovers and builds upon your inherent strengths and capabilities. I actively listen to your lived experiences and provide a safe, validating environment where we can authentically collaborate. By combining objective, evidence-based practices with deep compassion, I am committed to supporting you in realizing your full potential and achieving meaningful personal goals.
