Hi and welcome! I'm so glad you are here. My name is Michelle Posey Edwards. I currently live in Austin, and am licensed in Texas. I am passionate about working with clients to gain a deeper understanding of themselves through a comprehensive autism assessment. I have over 12 years of experience providing autism assessments, and love working with adults who have been misdiagnosed or overlooked. Every person's journey is unique, and I am committed to offering the care and attention that each client deserves.
My motivation for working with autistic adults is how often I get feedback that receiving an autism diagnosis has been life changing for clients who now have an answer for some of their life long struggles. While there may be things that prove difficult in a neurotypical world, I think being autistic has many strengths. I value neurodiversity and want my clients to leave the assessment valuing their unique strengths, and with an understanding of areas they could use more support to feel better. I am inspired by all of my clients and the resilience and strength I see in each of them.
I prioritize an affirming and strengths-based approach to ensure that every individual feels seen, valued, and empowered. Known for my respectful and empathetic approach, I strive to ensure that every individual feels heard and supported throughout the assessment process. I actively listen to my client's experiences and validate their feelings, creating a safe space where they can express themselves authentically. I want the assessment process to be a positive experience for every client.
