About
Hello and welcome! My name is Michael Farley and I am a licensed clinical social worker. I am licensed in North Carolina and I live in Charlotte. I am passionate about my work as a therapist and feel grateful for the opportunity to support individuals on their journey of healing and realizing the life they want. My desire is to provide a collaborative environment where we work together to build on strengths and move toward your personal goals. I want to make sure you feel understood, as well as safe and comfortable in sharing your feelings and perspectives. Each of us has our own story that makes us who we are. I see my job as fully knowing who this unique individual is and how I can helpf them in facing challenges and find a fulfilling life.
As a social worker and therapist I have been fortunate to work with the neurodivergent community, supporting them in navigating challenges, but also seeing their strengths, insights and resiliency. I feel honored to work with them and support them in living a life that aligns with their values. I believe in a person-centered, strengths-based approach and a therapeutic relationship that is collaborative and respectful. I also continuously educate myself about the lived experiences of neurodivergent individuals so I can more fully recognize the systemic challenges they face. Ultimately, I want the individuals I works with to feel heard and understood and I hope that they find joy in their lives.
My approach focuses on an individual's strengths and supporting them in living a life that fits with the person they want to be. I provide a welcoming space that is free of judgement. I actively listen, reflecting and validating their feelings. I work collaboratively with individuals in finding plans and solutions for addressing challenges.
