About
Hi there! I’m Melissa, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Colorado, with clinical licensure in both Colorado and Idaho. I have over 10 years of experience supporting neurodivergent individuals, and for the past five years I have provided mental health therapy to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that each person is unique, and I strive to meet you where you are while tailoring therapy to your individual needs. I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches, including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have extensive experience working with neurodivergent individuals who have experienced trauma, face challenges with mood regulation, or need support with anxiety related symptoms.
My passion for supporting neurodivergent individuals has been at the center of my work for over 10 years. I began my career as a job coach and direct support professional, where I saw firsthand the gap in mental health and supportive services for individuals who are neurodivergent. That experience shaped my commitment to bridging that gap by creating affirming, individualized spaces where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered. I recognize the systemic barriers that have historically limited access to care, and my goal is to help clients build on their strengths, navigate challenges with confidence, and live authentically.
I take an affirming and strengths-based approach by recognizing that each client brings unique abilities, resilience, and insight into their own experiences. Rather than focusing solely on challenges, I work collaboratively with clients to identify their strengths, build confidence, and develop strategies that support their personal goals. I strive to create a safe, compassionate space where clients feel heard, validated, and empowered to show up as their authentic selves. My approach is rooted in respect for neurodiversity and a commitment to helping clients feel understood, supported, and capable of thriving.
