About

Hello and welcome! I’m Dr. Megan Dale, a licensed clinical psychologist based in the Phoenix area. I am licensed in Arizona, Washington, and Oregon and am authorized to practice telepsychology in participating PSYPACT states. Throughout my career, I have provided psychotherapy and psychological evaluations to adolescents and adults with a wide range of life experiences, identities, and ways of thinking and relating to the world.

I am especially passionate about helping neurodivergent adults better understand themselves through compassionate, affirming, and individualized care. I believe an evaluation should be more than a diagnostic process—it should offer meaningful insight, validation, and a clearer understanding of both your strengths and the areas in which you may need greater support. My goal is to create a space where you feel respected, heard, and comfortable being fully yourself throughout the process.

Education & Licensure
Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from the Arizona School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Phoenix; Master of Arts (M.A.) in Clinical Psychology from the Arizona School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, Phoenix; Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychology from Arizona State University
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My interest in working with autistic and neurodivergent adults is both professional and personal. Over the years, I have had the privilege of supporting many neurodivergent clients in therapy, and several of my family members and close friends are also autistic. These relationships and experiences have deepened my appreciation for the many ways people understand, experience, and engage with the world.

I am especially drawn to helping adults who may have spent years feeling misunderstood, masking parts of themselves, or wondering why certain aspects of life seem more difficult than they do for others. I believe a thoughtful, neurodiversity-affirming evaluation can provide clarity, validation, and a more compassionate framework for understanding one’s experiences. It is meaningful to me to help people recognize not only their challenges and support needs, but also the strengths, perspectives, and qualities that are an important part of who they are.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I bring an affirming and strengths-based approach to my work by beginning with the belief that neurodivergence is not something to be corrected, but a meaningful part of how a person experiences and engages with the world. I strive to create an evaluation process in which clients feel respected, understood, and able to share their experiences without judgment.

Rather than focusing only on difficulties, I work to recognize the abilities, interests, coping strategies, values, and perspectives each person has developed throughout their life. I also understand that many autistic adults have spent years masking, adapting to expectations, or having their experiences misunderstood. My goal is to help clients develop a more compassionate and accurate understanding of themselves, including both their strengths and the areas in which additional support or accommodations may be helpful.

As an LGBTQIA+ affirming clinician, I am also mindful of the ways neurodivergence can intersect with identity, relationships, culture, and life experiences. I approach each person with curiosity and humility, recognizing that they are the expert on their own life. I hope clients leave the evaluation process feeling validated, empowered, and better equipped to advocate for what they need in order to thrive.
