About

Welcome and hello! My name is Megan and I a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pennsylvania with a PhD in Human Sexuality. I specialize in helping people better understand themselves and connect to different parts of their identity, by providing an affirming space where they can feel free to be themselves. I'm honored to support people in such an important journey, and believe you are the expert in yourself, and enjoy working collaboratively as everyone is unique.

Education & Licensure
PhD in Human Sexuality from Widener University; Masters in Social Work from Widener University; Masters in Education from Widener University; Bachelor of Science from New York University
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

In over ten years of practice I have found myself specializing in working with neurodiverse individuals, and find my client oriented approach works very well with people who see the world a little differently. I believe in accessibility and reducing barriers, as well as providing culturally competent care. I work to affirm individuals as well as worldviews and understand their experiences to meet them where they are at. I have found working with people to reduce stigma, especially related to late diagnosis and associated trauma, to be incredibly important work to help reduce masking, shame and compartmentalization, and increase self-esteem, self-compassion, and self-efficacy.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I take a strengths based approach that is focused on recognizing the uniqueness of the individual, and empowering them to expand their world by achieving the goals that are important to them. This includes pulling from a variety of treatment modalities including affirmative therapy, motivational interviewing, and DBT. While I believe in providing a safe and affirming space, I also believe in gently challenging clients, and work together to agree on what level of challenge is right for the individual and in line with their goals, inside and outside of sessions.
