Matthew Sacks
About
Hello! My name is Dr. Matthew Sacks and I have been a practicing clinical psychologist for over twenty years. I want to know your story. Whether through assessment or in therapy, I strive to create a meaningful connection with each and every client in order to uncover the story of their life and the journey that has brought them to Prosper Health. Experience has taught me that clients can play a very active role in the assessment process, especially when they feel comfortable and understood by their provider.
My interest in working with neurodivergent populations dates back to my initial clinical training at UNC, where I learned the tools of assessment and diagnostic interviewing. That interest deepened a few years later when I received my ADHD diagnosis after flying under the radar of educators, professors, and other clinicians for over 16 years. Since then I have learned how an accurate diagnosis can really pave the way towards better understanding, functioning, and flourishing in many domains of life for neurodivergent individuals.
Every person I work with comes to the table with certain abilitites, experiences, and knowledge that have guided them and helped them to walk in the proverbial door of my office. Our work together will often highlight and uncover the specific nature of their inherent strengths, helping to deepen and build upon these strengths to find a more rewarding and fulfilling path through life.
