About
Hello, and welcome! I’m Dr. Marylene Goode, a licensed clinical psychologist with more than 10 years of experience helping people navigate life’s challenges and create meaningful change. I am licensed in Arizona where i currently leave. As a U.S. Army Veteran and former military psychologist, I bring a unique understanding of stress, trauma, major life transitions, and the challenges that can come with balancing personal, family, and professional responsibilities.
What drives me as a psychologist is the opportunity to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where people can feel genuinely heard and understood. My approach is warm, compassionate, practical, and collaborative. I work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and have extensive experience helping clients with anxiety, depression, PTSD and trauma, ADHD, stress, Adult Autism, relationship concerns, adjustment difficulties, and major life transitions.
My goal is for you to leave feeling more confident, empowered, and equipped to manage life’s challenges.
My interest in working with autistic and neurodivergent clients grew from my experiences as a clinical psychologist working with individuals who often spent years feeling misunderstood, overlooked, or pressured to fit expectations that did not reflect how they naturally experience the world. I became passionate about providing a space where neurodivergent individuals can feel understood and supported without judgment.
I especially value helping clients better understand their unique strengths, challenges, communication styles, emotional experiences, and ways of processing the world around them. My approach is strengths-based, affirming, and individualized rather than focused solely on symptoms or labels.
What I find most meaningful is seeing clients develop greater self-understanding and self-acceptance. Whether someone is exploring a possible diagnosis, adjusting to a new diagnosis, navigating relationships or work, or simply trying to understand themselves better, my goal is to help them feel heard, respected, and empowered to build a life that works for them.
I believe every individual brings a unique combination of strengths, abilities, perspectives, and experiences. My approach is rooted in compassion, affirmation, and a genuine appreciation for what makes each person unique. Rather than defining clients by their challenges, I focus on helping them recognize, understand, and build upon the strengths they already possess.
With autistic and neurodivergent clients, I especially value qualities such as creativity, authenticity, deep interests, unique perspectives, resilience, and individual ways of thinking and experiencing the world. I strive to create a space where clients feel accepted and valued as they are, rather than feeling pressured to conform to the expectations of others.
My role is to help clients discover what works best for them, strengthen their confidence and self-advocacy, and recognize their own potential. Ultimately, I want each client to leave their feedback session with a greater appreciation of who they are and a stronger belief in what they are capable of becoming.
