About
Hi there—I'm Marissa, and I specialize in supporting neurodivergent, and marginalized individuals on their paths to growth and empowerment. With over 12 years of experience, I help clients navigate anxiety, depression, life transitions, and the rich complexity of identity. At the core of my practice is a belief that therapy isn't about fixing what’s “wrong”—it's about recognizing the full brilliance of who you are and helping you build from that foundation. I hold space intentionally for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities, bringing compassion, cultural awareness, and affirmation into every session. My approach is direct, yet collaborative, and grounded in real-world growth—whether you're seeking support in executive functioning, working through trauma or looking to better understand your identity. When I’m not in sessions, you’ll find me crafting, exploring new flavors, or spending time with my family—just real moments and shared humanity.
I chose this path because I believe neurodivergence is not something to “fix” but a vital part of human diversity. My role is to listen, affirm, and walk alongside my clients as they build skills, self-understanding, and confidence while navigating environments that may not always be supportive. At the heart of my work is the commitment to helping neurodivergent individuals thrive, not just survive.
I practice with compassion, patience, and affirmation—creating space where clients can show up authentically without pressure to mask or conform. Together, we explore strategies that align with their values, interests, and goals, so that progress feels empowering and sustainable. As a black neurodiverse clinician, I also recognize how identity and lived experience shape the therapeutic journey. I bring cultural awareness and humility to my work, ensuring clients feel seen and supported in all the layers of who they are.
