About
Hello and welcome! I'm so glad you're here. My name is Marielle Kantzler, and I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Marriage & Family Therapist based in Tampa Bay, Florida. With over 22 years of experience, I am deeply passionate about supporting neurodivergent individuals who navigate the complex reality of co-occurring conditions.I specialize in working with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and the anxiety, mood disorders, and trauma that often walk hand-in-hand with them. I believe in creating a safe, affirming space where you feel truly seen—not just for your diagnosis, but for your whole self. My approach is to partner with you to untangle these overlapping challenges, helping you build resilience and uncover strengths that fit your unique neurology.Whether you are managing sensory overload, emotional regulation, or life transitions, my goal is to offer care that honors your individual journey. I look forward to walking alongside you as we work through life's complexities together.
My motivation for specializing in neurodivergent care comes from 22 years of witnessing how often autistic individuals and those with ADHD are misunderstood by systems designed for neurotypical norms. Early in my career, I saw brilliant, capable people labeled as 'difficult' or 'non-compliant' when what they really needed was support that honored how their brains actually work.I chose this path because I believe autistic people and ADHDers deserve clinicians who don't try to make them fit a mold—but instead help them thrive as their authentic selves. I'm inspired by the unique strengths, perspectives, and resilience I see in the neurodivergent community every day.My goal is to provide care that meets you where you are. Whether you're navigating co-occurring anxiety, processing trauma, managing life transitions, or simply learning to advocate for your needs, I want you to leave each session feeling more understood and empowered than when you walked in.Together, we can work toward a life where you feel supported, valued, and able to build strategies that honor your neurology—not fight against it.
How I Bring an Affirming and Strength-Based ApproachI believe that being neurodivergent isn't a problem to be solved, but a different way of experiencing the world that comes with unique gifts. My approach is rooted in the conviction that you are not "broken" or "non-compliant"—you are simply navigating a world not built for your neurology.Instead of focusing on what you lack or what needs to be "fixed," I prioritize reckoning with your environment and building upon your innate strengths. Whether it's your intense focus, your creative problem-solving, your deep empathy, or your ability to hyper-focus on passions, we identify these assets and learn how to harness them.
