About

Hello! My name is Mallory Bolenbaugh, and I am a psychologist licensed in both Iowa and Florida. I am honored to have the opportunity to partner with you in exploring the diagnostic and psychological information that may be helpful as you work toward greater mental wellness and self-understanding. My goal is to create a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment where you feel encouraged to openly discuss your concerns, experiences, and strengths. I believe that a collaborative approach grounded in transparency and clinical integrity can make the evaluation process both meaningful and empowering. Through our work together, I hope to help you find answers to your own questions and goals, gain greater clarity and insight into your experiences, and create a foundation for developing practical skills that can be applied to your everyday life. Ultimately, my aim is to support lasting self-awareness, personal growth, and positive change in response to your questions and concerns. I look forward to meeting you!

Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I am passionate about working with individuals in the neurodivergent community because I have seen how transformative greater self-understanding can be. For many adults, receiving accurate clinical information can provide an explanation for experiences they have struggled to understand for years and can replace shame or self-blame with greater self-acceptance. I value taking a strengths-based, individualized approach that recognizes neurodivergence as an important part of how a person experiences the world while also addressing the challenges that may interfere with their quality of life. I am particularly passionate about reducing stigma surrounding mental health diagnoses, therapy, and psychological assessment and helping individuals use greater insight into themselves and their strengths to build a life that feels meaningful and authentic to them.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

My aim is to fully understand my clients’ questions, concerns, and needs so that these remain at the center of our work together. I also strive to understand each client as a whole person, rather than defining them by a single concern, diagnosis, or aspect of their experience. I approach my work with curiosity and a commitment to understanding the full picture of who you are—including your challenges, strengths, interests, experiences, and goals—and how this unique combination can be used to develop meaningful, individualized strategies to help you create the changes you desire in your life.
