Hello and welcome! My name is Lucas DeMonte (he/him), and I'm a queer, trans, neurodivergent (AuDHD) trauma-informed therapist and educator. I bring over a decade of experience working across mental health, education, advocacy, and community care. My work is rooted in co-creating spaces where clients feel safe enough to show up as their whole selves—unmasked, unedited, and authentically themselves—while also feeling empowered, supported, and thoughtfully challenged in ways that foster growth, insight, and self-trust.
My motivation to support neurodivergent clients is deeply personal and professional. As a queer trans man with AuDHD myself, I know how rare it is to be truly understood in therapeutic spaces—and how powerful it is when you are. I’ve sat in too many rooms personally and professionally that weren’t built with neurodivergent folks in mind. That’s why I’ve committed my work to making therapy accessible, intersectional, and affirming. It’s an honor to journey alongside clients as they reconnect with their strengths and build lives that resonate with who they are.
I strive to offer a space where you don’t have to mask or explain yourself, and where your full self is welcomed and respected. My approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and rooted in collaboration. I recognize the impact of trauma—both individual and systemic—and work to build safety, trust, and empowerment in every session. I will support you in identifying your inherent strengths, building meaningful coping strategies, and making sense of your experiences in ways that align with your values and needs. I also believe that knowledge is a key part of healing. I integrate psychoeducation and evidence-based practices to help you better understand your brain, body, and nervous system. I thoughtfully challenge when it serves your growth, always with consent, care, and curiosity. Above all, I’m here to co-create a space where you feel affirmed, empowered, and genuinely supported—on your terms.
