About
Welcome! My name is Liva, and I currently reside in Dallas and hold a license to practice in Texas. Therapy is not a one box fit all, and I like to tailor and personalize each session to the individual. I do believe our past can shape our perceptions but ultimately does not determine who we are. I think you can use the connections of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to help heal and find the best version of you. Your story is unique, and I never want a client to feel alone in battling through your journey.
My "why" in working with specialized clients that experience autism or are considered neurodivergent is the passion I hold for those considered "different." I have a passion for advocating and empowering those that are misunderstood. My goal is to help clients build on their strengths and develop tools that can enhance their lives and foster connections you find difficult. I am here to guide, motivate, and build you to be able to live comfortably and authentically in your own skin. Together, we can work towards you thriving in spaces that you may have felt have no been meant for you.
I bring in affirming and strengths-based approaches in counseling because I don't feel being neurodivergent is a disorder. It is just one trait out of many that makes you human. I believe everyone is made up in many ways and should not be treated less than the next. I like to create a safe space with no judgement or wrong answers, just organic conversations. I feel when you are able to speak openly and honestly you feel heard and seen. When you feel heard and seen you are able to learn more about yourself, and navigate and achieve goals you once felt were impossible.
