About
Hello! I am glad that you have selected Prosper Health to help you with your mental and behavioral health needs. My name is Lisa Schening. I have been a licensed psychologist for over 20 years. I am licensed to practice telehealth in Pennsylvania and Florida. I have lived in Erie, Pennsylvania my entire life. I have worked as a psychologist in a number environments including private practice and residential treatment. Over the past few years my interest in helping adults with neurodiversity has grown. As we have learned more about autism and ADHD we have also become aware of the number of individuals who were not diagnosed early in life and who struggle with symptoms into adulthood. I am committed to offering care that is as individual as you are.
I work in psychology from a strengths-based approach. I have friends and family who are on the autism spectrum and who are also part of the LGTBQ+ community. Masking who you really are can only complicate your mental health. I work to help individuals see themselves truly and authentically, and focus on their strengths to help them reach their goals. Every individual is different, so every assessment is different. I strive to provide clients with a psychologically safe place in which to explore themselves and grow into who they want to be.
My interest in working with autistic adults has grown out of my professional work with neurodiverse individuals as well as personal experiences with friends and family members. As I work to diagnose young people with autism so that they can receive services and have the greatest chance for success, I have become increasingly interested in how undiagnosed adults have been managing their symptoms in a neurotypical world. My goal is to help identify neurodivergence in adults and lead individuals to become authentic in who they are and reach all of the goals they desire.
