About
Hello! My name is Lisa and I am dedicated to supporting people who have been told they need to try harder to fit in simply because they are not like everyone else. If you are exhausted from trying to confirm to the expectations of others, but still crave a sense of belonging, I would be honored to help you sort that all out with warm affirming care. It is meaningful to me to support you to live an authentic life!
I have been sharing my life with a person diagnosed with Autism for 30 years. My relationship with them changed my world view from one where I tried to support them to fit in to one where I advocated for others to celebrate differences. For many decades I have supported marginalized individuals to learn effective self advocacy techniques, to speak up in a way they can be heard and feel comfortable and safe in their current life. All the while feeling hopeful about the future.
Sometimes our biggest road block to feeling satisfied is ourselves. The way we think about our trauma and treat our bodies are the first two areas I will explore with you. We will make a plan to be well everyday while you navigate relationships with peers, partners, family and caregivers. We will practice coping skill strategies to manage overwhelming expectations and most importantly strive for self acceptance.
