About
Hello! I'm Linda. I am a clinical psychologist licensed in Oregon and Florida with almost thirty years of clinical practice. In my practice I use a warm, therapeutic approach to assessment, to create a safe space where you can put away any mask and be yourself. A place where we can work in collaborative partnership toward understanding your lived experience, identify your unique strengths and find a positive path forward.
If you are wondering whether autism or another form of neurodiversity describes your experience, your way of being, and how you navigate the world, we can explore that together. Your courage to start exploring these questions is an important first step. The next step in your exploration could be scheduling an evaluation appointment to gain greater clarity about yourself, validation of your lived experiences, and for supportive guidance toward positive future directions. If this fits with what you have in mind, I am here to help. Please schedule an appointment with me—I look forward to meeting you!
My strong interest and dedication to working with adults on the autism spectrum is driven both by professional and personal motivations. As a psychologist, I am strongly committed to each individual’s need and right to be understood, supported and valued. On a personal level, my own family history contributed to my initial exploration of autism and my ongoing commitment to empathic, affirming and supportive service. Early on, I watched a close relative who, as a child, was not recognized as being on the autism spectrum, and reached adulthood confused and distressed by his own lack of understanding regarding his sensory, social, and behavioral differences and difficulties. Unfortunately, in his time, there was little accurate professional knowledge, support or resources available to help him understand or cope with his own experiences. This background has served as a powerful motivator for me to provide a positive, growth-oriented, affirming experience to you, my client, as you seek to learn about and understand yourself, your talents and your value, and to develop hopes and plans for a positive future.
My approach to working with you focuses on providing an empathic, safe environment that fosters self-discovery and values your uniqueness. I view assessment as a compassionate, collaborative therapeutic process that provides tools to help us to explore together and understand your strengths, your areas of challenge and growth. I would be honored to get to know you and to support you in a warm, therapeutic space where you can feel understood and supported as you strive toward your future goals and to fulfill your potential.
