About

Hello and welcome! I am glad you are here. I am Dr. Lesley Sanders. I currently live in Maryland and am licensed in MD and DC. I am passionate about working with individuals seeking answers to overall health and wellness. As a clinician, it is important to me to create a safe space where the client feels heard, understood, and validated. If you allow me to work with you, my goal is to ensure I understand your story, perspective, and how you navigate daily, as it relates to exploring if autism is the right diagnosis for you.

Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My interests and motivation in working with autistic/neurodivergent clients come from a place or perspective that we are all unique and possess our own idiosyncrasies and that we all deserve to be heard and to be treated fairly and with respect. It is my goal to ensure each client is heard during the evaluation process, so I can accurately tell their story and provide a personalized report that helps them receive the proper care and support needed to reach their highest potential.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

Throughout the autism evaluation process, I strive to create a safe and validating environment that supports the client in speaking authentically about their concerns and experiences. It is with great hope that, upon completion of the evaluation, the client feels heard, understood, validated, and empowered to seek the support needed to continue growing and to meet the goals they were destined to achieve.
