About

Great to meet you!  My name is Leah Krinsky Atkins.  I'm a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist located in Southern California.  My goal in my therapy work is to help my clients believe in themselves as much as I believe in them. I work with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and countless life issues.

Education & Licensure
BFA, New York University; MA, Psychology, California State University, Los Angeles; MS, Psychology, California State University, Los Angeles
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My practice holds space for the unique systemic, environmental, and sensory challenges neurodivergent clients face.  I view therapy as a collaborative, flexible partnership tailored to how a client’s brain actually processes the world.  As I frequently tell my clients, when it comes to our inner life, there's no "good" or "bad," just "different."

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

Much of traditional therapy tends to focus on a client's pathology rather than what they bring to the table, which can be a very effective way to keep a client stuck.  I'm a big believer in Positive Psychology, which is about honoring and building on strengths rather than zeroing in on problems to fix.
