Laura Conner
About
Hi! My name is Laura (they/she) and I am an aggressively accepting queer Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in the Charlotte, NC area. I am passionate about supporting humans on their journey to healing and growth. I create and hold safe and brave spaces to explore, process, and make meaning out of your experiences. My ultimate goal is to guide and support you while you discover your most authentic and regulated self, regardless of what that looks like for you.
Simply put, I get it because I got it. I am a neurodiverse queer adult who has been working to be the support I needed when I was discovering my authentic self. I believe that neurodiversity is not a “problem” to fix or a “condition” to be managed. I believe that we adapted to survive in environments that were not created for us. I believe in doing work that shifts us out of survival mode and into thriving mode.
I am a warm, safe, honest, and supportive therapist who will help you establish and maintain your authenticity while achieving your personal goals. I am eclectic and do not subscribe to a one-modality-fits-all approach. While I am well versed in CBT, DBT, and ACT, my favorite modalities are IFS, EMDR, Art Therapy, and Somatic approaches. I foster direct, open, and honest communication about your needs and what works best for you and your goals. I am tactful and skilled at facilitating difficult conversations, holding space for complicated emotions, and affirming your experiences first. I look forward to meeting and working with you!
