About

I’m really glad you’re here. My name is LaTasha Flowers, and I am a licensed professional counselor licensed in the state of Georgia. Starting therapy—especially as an autistic and neurodivergent person—can come with a mix of curiosity, hope, and maybe some hesitation. My goal is to create a space where you don’t have to mask, perform, or explain yourself in ways that feel unnatural. You’re welcome to show up exactly as you are. I work from a neurodiversity-affirming perspective, which means I see autism, ADHD, and other forms of neurodivergence as natural variations of human experience—not problems to be fixed.

Education & Licensure
PhD in Counseling, Education, Supervision student at Walden University; Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University; Bachelors in Psychology from University of Kansas City, Missouri.
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My path toward working with autistic and neurodivergent clients grew out of noticing how often people were being misunderstood not only in life, but also in traditional therapy spaces. I have autistic family members that I love dearly and also worked as a paraprofessional with autistic and neurodivergent children in school settings, and it is a blessing to have been able to be part of their lives and learn so much from everyone. When I became a therapist I was able to counsel the autistic and neurodivergent community and learn how this community was not fully supported in. So in a lot of ways, it wasn’t a single moment—it was an ongoing realization that this kind of affirming, respectful support is both needed and often missing, and I wanted to be part of doing it differently. Together, we can explore what supports actually feel helpful to you, whether that’s navigating sensory overwhelm, burnout, relationships, identity, communication, or simply finding ways to move through the world with a bit more ease and self-understanding.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I individualize and do not categorize my clients and tailor therapy to meet my clients needs. I use evidence-based therapies including CBT, ACT, DBT, to help you find your voice to advocate for yourself and your needs. I create a safe space for you to be heard and know you are supported through your journey. I am here as your resource , support,  advocate, and  cheerleader .  Together, we can explore what supports actually feel helpful to you, whether that’s navigating sensory overwhelm, burnout, relationships, identity, communication, or simply finding ways to move through the world with a bit more ease and self-understanding.I aim to be collaborative, transparent, and respectful of your pace. You’re the expert on your own experience; my role is to support you in making sense of it, building tools that fit you, and creating a life that aligns with your needs and values—not someone else’s expectations. If you’ve ever felt misunderstood, overlooked, or pressured to be someone you’re not, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to go through that here.
