About
Welcome! My name is Larissa and I am a licensed clinical psychologist in New Jersey. What drives me as a provider is helping people make sense of themselves with clarity, compassion, and accuracy—especially those who have spent years feeling misunderstood or overlooked. I approach evaluations as a collaborative, affirming process, not a test you have to “pass,” and I aim to create an environment where clients feel safe, respected, and seen.
My motivation for working with autistic and neurodivergent adults was inspired by meeting people who were doing everything they could to function in a world that wasn’t built for them, often while carrying years of self-doubt, burnout, or misdiagnosis. Many had been told they were “too sensitive,” “anxious,” or “not trying hard enough,” when what they were actually doing was adapting constantly, quietly, and at great personal cost.Over time, I felt a strong pull to slow that process down and offer something different: careful listening, nuanced assessment, and a framework that helps people understand themselves with more kindness. Being part of someone’s journey toward clarity—whether that means an autism diagnosis, a deeper self-understanding, or simply feeling validated—is deeply meaningful to me. This work allows me to combine clinical rigor with genuine human connection, and it’s a privilege I don’t take lightly.
My approach is grounded in the belief that neurodivergence is not something to be fixed, but something to be understood and supported. In evaluations, I focus on helping clients recognize patterns of strength such as deep focus, creativity, honesty, analytical thinking, or strong values, alongside areas that may require accommodation or support. Rather than framing differences as deficits, I work collaboratively to place each person’s experiences in context: their environment, their history, and the expectations they’ve been navigating.I strive to make the evaluation process affirming and transparent, explaining my clinical thinking along the way and inviting clients to reflect on what resonates for them. Compassion is central to how I work; many adults seeking evaluation have spent years pushing through exhaustion or self-doubt, and my goal is to help replace that with understanding and self-trust. I’m committed to supporting clients not only in gaining clarity, but in using that clarity to advocate for themselves, build on their strengths, and move toward a life that fits who they are.
