About
Hello and welcome. I'm Dr. Lara Weissblatt, a licensed psychologist based in Florida. I specialize in adult autism assessment and enjoy helping people better understand themselves through a thoughtful, collaborative, and affirming evaluation process. Many of the adults I work with have spent years wondering why certain aspects of life, relationships, communication, sensory experiences, or social expectations have felt different for them. My goal is to create a supportive and respectful space where you can explore those questions, feel genuinely heard, and gain a deeper understanding of your unique experiences. I view assessment as more than a diagnostic process. It is an opportunity for self-discovery, self-understanding, and recognizing strengths that may have gone unnoticed or misunderstood over the years.
I was drawn to working with autistic and neurodivergent adults because I have always been fascinated by the many different ways people experience, interpret, and move through the world. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals who spent years feeling different, misunderstood, or uncertain about why certain aspects of life seemed more difficult for them than for others. One of the most meaningful parts of my work is helping people make sense of experiences that may have felt confusing or isolating for a long time. I believe that greater self-understanding can be incredibly empowering. Whether an assessment ultimately supports an autism diagnosis or not, my goal is to help you gain a clearer understanding of yourself, recognize your strengths, and develop a framework for understanding your experiences with greater compassion and confidence.I have deep respect for neurodiversity and believe that differences in thinking, communication, and information processing are natural parts of human variation. I am passionate about creating a supportive and affirming environment where people feel understood, respected, and valued for who they are.
My approach is collaborative, affirming, and strengths-based. I believe that every person brings unique abilities, perspectives, and experiences that deserve recognition and respect. Rather than viewing differences through a deficit-based lens, I work to understand the whole person, including the strengths, coping strategies, and qualities that have helped them navigate life, relationships, education, and work.I strive to create an environment where you feel comfortable being yourself without fear of judgment. I approach assessment with curiosity, compassion, and respect for your lived experience. While we may explore challenges that have contributed to stress or difficulty, I place equal importance on identifying strengths, resilience, and the ways you have adapted and grown over time.My goal is for you to leave the assessment process feeling understood, validated, and better equipped to advocate for your needs, build on your strengths, and move forward with greater self-awareness and confidence.
