About

Welcome. Bienvenidos. My name is Dr. Kristina Rodriguez. I am grateful for the time spent getting to know me. I am passionate about stories. I believe that everyone has a right to generate, create, and navigate their own. I value and acknowledge that identities can play a role in individual's stories. As a clinician, I approach this work with compassion, curiosity, and a continuous drive to understand the individual that I am sitting across the room from. My goal is to highlight and validate the resiliency that is inherent in an individual's life path while recognizing how identities may shape it. Together, we will work towards writing the next couple of chapters of your story. Lo haremos juntos.

Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I believe in the power of inclusion, empowerment, and creating spaces where individuals feel seen, understood, and safe. My motivation for working with autistic adults stems from a passion towards neurodiversity and creating this space for individuals that I meet. I recognize the resiliency, perspectives ,and strengths within the autistic community and seek to contribute towards helping individuals recognize these strengths towards their own growth and well-being. My goal is to assist individuals in creating their own life that celebrates and is reflective of their unique perspective, strength, and skills.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

Compassion and recognition are at the cornerstone of how I practice as a psychologist. I le believe that compassion and recognition are invaluable tools towards providing affirming and strength based work. I strive to ensure that all individuals are seen, valued, feel safe, and empowered to present themselves authentically. I strive to affirm the identifies an individual may hold and how these identifies may intersect. I engage in active listening as together we explore and understand an individual's goals, barriers to goals, and ways to achieve them. Throughout this process, I continuously recognize how individuals show up for themselves and seek to highlight and validate the unique skills and strengths that are part of their life story.
