About
Hi! I’m Dr. Kristen Slapinski, a licensed clinical psychologist in Pennsylvania. My favorite thing about psychological assessment is helping people to find a new way of understanding themselves. I know how difficult it can be to go through life without a clear answer as to why life and relationships can feel so hard. An assessment can help you develop a language to understand your experiences, and doing so is often the first step on a journey toward self-acceptance, recognizing your unique strengths, and finding the right supports. I would be honored to play a part in that journey for you!
At times, it has felt like my passion for working with autistic and neurodivergent adults was chosen for me, rather than a path I consciously chose. In fact, it’s felt like neurodivergent folks have tended to find me! I love getting to witness the sense of relief, self-understanding, and joy that comes with feeling seen and understood on the deep level that an assessment provides. I also love getting to watch my neurodivergent clients give themselves permission – sometimes for the first time – to be their unique and truest selves.
I strive to create an environment of warmth, humility, and self-compassion during our assessment sessions. I believe that neurodiversity is a beautiful and valuable facet of the human experience, and I am intentional about attuning to, listening for, and reflecting upon your unique strengths throughout our time together.
