About
Hi! I’m Dr. Kourtney Bennett (Kourtney, she/her), and I am a licensed counseling psychologist, with a background in university counseling, community mental health, and career development. My clinical style emphasizes the importance of collaboration in our work together, seeks to understand the impact of navigating the world within our diverse identities, and provides skill-based resources that help create a sense of grounding. My clinical interests include trauma-informed care; career development; multicultural identity; and neuroaffirming assessment. I hope that by working together, we can increase a sense of self-acceptance/love, identify wellness strategies that align with your values, and support empowerment when moving through systems that can often be overstimulating and inaccessible. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, collecting books I plan to one day read, being at the beach, and keeping up with the (MCU) Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Over the course of my work across mental health settings, I have partnered with autistic and neurodivergent adolescents and adults to navigate educational, employment, social, and family systems that have invalidated, minimized, and/or pathologized their experiences. This motivated me to specialize in working with autistic adults, and I hope to partner with you to gain clarity and identify strategies for navigating the spaces you move through with self-determination.
I work to meet clients where they are, with respect for each person’s lived experience and intersecting identities. Relationship-centered cultural humility, transparency, and collaboration are central to my approach, and I strive to create a space that celebrates the whole of each person, identifies resources to support well-being, and provides a framework for assessment that highlights strengths, addresses potential barriers to neuroaffirming care, and deepens self-understanding.
