About
Hello potential clients and welcome! I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with the state of Illinois with more than 20 years of experience providing mental health care within the Department of Veteran Affairs and private practice. My passion for becoming a therapist is rooted in a deep commitment to helping others feel seen, heard, and supported—especially during life’s most difficult and uncertain moments. I believe that everyone deserves a space where they can process their experiences without judgment and work toward healing in a way that feels meaningful and empowering.Throughout my career, I have worked extensively with adults facing complex concerns, including serious mental illness, anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, and grief. I have also had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse cultural, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds, which has strengthened my ability to provide culturally responsive and inclusive care.
I also have experience supporting individuals who identify as neurodivergent, including those with autism, ADHD, and other cognitive differences. My approach is affirming, strengths-based, and focused on honoring how your brain naturally works rather than trying to “fix” it. Together, we can explore strategies to manage overwhelm, improve executive functioning, navigate social or sensory challenges, and build routines that align with your needs. I prioritize creating a space that is flexible, validating, and respectful of different communication styles, processing speeds, and ways of experiencing the world.I am committed to creating a nonjudgmental, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at your own pace. Whether you are coping with stress, navigating loss, or working through long-standing challenges, I will meet you where you are and walk alongside you in the process.
In our work together, you can expect a collaborative, respectful, and supportive environment. I strive to create a safe space where you feel comfortable being open and honest, knowing that your experiences and emotions will be met with empathy and understanding. Therapy with me is not one-size-fits-all—we will work together to identify your goals and develop practical strategies that support your growth, healing, and day-to-day functioning. My ApproachMy therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based practices and tailored to meet your individual needs. I draw from a variety of methodologies, including:Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)Trauma-informed careMotivational InterviewingStrengths-based and person-centered approachesBy integrating these approaches, I help clients build insight, develop healthier thinking patterns, improve emotional regulation, and strengthen coping skills.
