About
Welcome—I’m so glad you’re here. My name is Kia Yang, a licensed psychologist in central California who is passionate about whole-person healing and mindful transformation. I approach assessment as a collaborative journey rooted in compassion, curiosity, and respect. My intention is to create a warm, grounding space where you feel safe to explore and express who you are. Each person’s path is unique, and I am committed to supporting you with care that is thoughtful, personalized, and empowering as you move toward greater clarity.
My desire to support autistic and neurodivergent clients is rooted in a profound respect for the diversity of human experience and the need for affirming, culturally grounded care. Many neurodivergent individuals, especially those from immigrant, bilingual, or underrepresented communities, have faced misunderstanding, stigma, or barriers to diagnosis and support. I am passionate about creating a therapeutic environment where clients feel safe, validated, and understood. My goal is to help each person build on their strengths, develop meaningful skills, and navigate the world in ways that feel empowering and aligned with who they are.
I bring an affirming and strengths-based lens to my work by honoring the unique strengths, histories, and cultural identities each person carries. As a Hmong clinician, I recognize how culture, community, and lived experience shape the way people understand themselves and navigate the world. I focus on identifying resilience, creativity, and personal insight rather than emphasizing deficits. Through active listening, validation, and collaborative problem-solving, I strive to create a space where clients feel truly seen, affirmed, and supported as they grow into their fullest potential.
