About

Hello and welcome! I’m Dr. Katia Goga, a licensed psychologist based in Austin, Texas. Seeking an evaluation can bring a mix of emotions, and I’m glad you’re taking this step toward understanding yourself more fully. I’m passionate about helping people make sense of their experiences, recognize their strengths, and find answers that feel meaningful to their lives. I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver and completed my postdoctoral fellowship at Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin, with a background in autism assessment and emotional and behavioral care. My approach is warm, thoughtful, and collaborative, with space for you to ask questions and share what matters most to you. Above all, I want you to feel comfortable being yourself and know that your experiences will be met with care, curiosity, and respect.

Education & Licensure
PsyD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver; MA in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver; BS in Psychology with a minor in Biology from the University of Texas at Austin
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I’m drawn to working with autistic and neurodivergent clients because I care deeply about helping people feel understood, especially when they’ve spent much of their lives feeling different or trying to explain experiences that others may not recognize. I value the opportunity to listen closely, look beyond assumptions, and help someone find words for what they’ve been experiencing. For me, an evaluation is also an opportunity to recognize strengths, make sense of challenges, and offer a clearer path forward. My hope is that you leave our work together with greater understanding and compassion for yourself, along with support that respects who you are and what matters to you.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I start by getting to know you—your story, your strengths, and what has brought you to seek an evaluation. Understanding your developmental history and experiences over time is an important part of my approach, and I take care to consider how those experiences fit together. I want you to have space to share what life has felt like for you, including strengths that may have gone unrecognized and challenges that others may not have understood. Throughout the process, I bring warmth, curiosity, and respect for your perspective. My goal is to help you gain a clearer understanding of yourself and identify support that honors who you are and what matters to you.
