About

Hello and welcome! My name is Dr. Surowiec and I am a neuropsychologist, licensed psychologist, and school psychologist who is passionate about helping individuals and families better understand complex developmental, learning, behavioral, and emotional challenges. What drives me most is the opportunity to uncover the “why” behind a person’s struggles and strengths, using comprehensive evaluation to provide clarity, direction, and meaningful support. I believe that every evaluation tells a unique story, and I am committed to helping families, schools, and providers translate that information into practical recommendations that improve lives.

Education & Licensure
Doctor of Psychology (PsyD), Nathan Weiss Graduate College; Master of Arts in School Psychology, Nathan Weiss Graduate College; Master of Arts in Communication, Rutgers University; Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts, Rutgers University.
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I chose this field because I have always been fascinated by the incredible complexity of human development and the profound impact that understanding can have on a person's life. Over the years, I have worked with many individuals and families who spent years searching for answers, often feeling overwhelmed, misunderstood, or uncertain about the future. Being able to help identify strengths, clarify diagnoses, and provide a roadmap forward is both a privilege and a responsibility that I take very seriously. My goal is not only to answer clinical questions, but also to help people feel seen, understood, and empowered as they move forward.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

At the heart of my work is the belief that every individual possesses unique strengths, abilities, and potential. While evaluations often begin with questions about challenges or areas of concern, I strive to identify and build upon the qualities that make each person resilient, capable, and unique. I view assessment as an opportunity to recognize strengths that may be overlooked, uncover talents that can be nurtured, and help families, educators, and providers understand how to support growth in meaningful ways. My approach is rooted in compassion, affirmation, and the belief that with the right understanding and support, every individual can continue to learn, develop, and reach their fullest potential.
