About
Hello and welcome! I am so happy you are here! My name is Julie Alexander. I currently live in Michigan where I am licensed. I am passionate about helping individuals understand and fully accept themselves. As a clinician, I strive to make sure that you feel safe, heard, and understood. My goal is to partner with you to help you work through whatever is getting in your way. It may not be easy, and I am here to support you. Every person is on their own unique journey. I committed to supporting you on yours
Before I became a therapist, I worked in disability services in higher education. It was there that I developed a strong passion for working with autistic/neurodivergent individuals. I came to appreciate neurodiversity and understand that those who are neurodivergent have valuable strengths that are truly needed in our world. I also saw the struggles and frustrations that many individuals have in trying to fit into a neurotypical world. I am committed to helping individuals navigate that world without sacrificing or changing who they are. I want to help people become more authentically themselves, not less.
I use an affirming and strength-based approach to help people become more authentically themselves. There are some who think that therapy is about learning how to mask better. That is not what I do. I want you to be more of who you are not less. I know that the world can be very harsh to those who are neurodivergent, which is why I believe that a strong sense of self is essential and I am here to help you get there.
