About
Hello and welcome! My name is Dr. Julia Turetskaya. I’m a licensed clinical psychologist and I have been captivated by the field of psychology since my first day in an “Introduction to Psychology” course in college. I have trained and worked in various clinical settings, but the majority of my training was completed at UCLA's Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior and several VA Medical Centers. Since returning to sunny California and transitioning into private practice approximately 12 years ago, I have worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds, presenting with various mental health concerns. I am dedicated to supporting my clients in their journeys toward greater self-insight, acceptance, and holistic well-being. I’m licensed to practice in California and Florida.
My drive to specialize in work with neurodivergent clients comes from a profound respect for neurodiversity. Over the years, I have had countless opportunities to admire the unique talents, skills, and distinctive viewpoints of autistic individuals. I have learned about this community from my clients, as well as several friends. Their description of the relief and validation they felt from completing a comprehensive assessment and receiving a correct diagnosis, has further inspired me to pursue this path.
As a clinician, I strive to provide a warm, safe, and relaxed environment. I approach every individual from a strength-based, holistic, and culturally sensitive perspective. Although I utilize research-supported methodology, I recognize that each individual is unique, as are his/her/their past experiences, current concerns, and goals for assessment. At the heart of my work is genuine care, validation, and a strong commitment to supporting clients in actualizing their fullest potential. I look forward to meeting and accompanying you on this journey!
