About
Hi, I’m Dr. Joseph Lang, a licensed clinical psychologist in Connecticut. I’m also authorized through PSYPACT to provide telehealth services to clients in participating states. I’ve been a psychologist for more than 30 years, and one of the things I’ve valued most throughout my career is getting to know people as individuals—not simply as a collection of symptoms or diagnoses.
Throughout my career, I’ve been especially interested in understanding the bigger picture of a person’s experience—how they see and interact with the world, what has shaped them over time, and the strengths and strategies they’ve developed along the way. Working with autistic and neurodivergent adults is a natural extension of that interest. I value the opportunity to help people better understand themselves and make sense of experiences that may have been difficult to understand or explain in the past.
I approach assessment with curiosity, openness, and respect for each person’s unique experiences. Rather than focusing only on challenges, I want to understand both the difficulties you may have encountered and the strengths and qualities that have helped you navigate your life.
My goal is for the assessment process to feel comfortable, collaborative, and genuinely useful. Whether an evaluation leads to an autism diagnosis or to a different understanding of your experiences, I hope you come away with greater clarity and self-understanding—and with a better appreciation for the strengths and qualities that make you who you are.
