About

Howdy! My name is Joe. Welcome to the therapeutic process! I cultivate strong therapeutic relationships to fuel my clients’ healing and growth. No matter where people are in life or the challenges they face, I have the expertise and passion to support my clients from early childhood to end of life. I specialize in conducting assessments for children and adults who want to know more about themselves to help guide their mental health journey. My specialities are related to ADHD, trauma, adoption, autism, and home and school collaboration. I appreciate your willingness to consider me as your psychologist. I am truly invested in my clients as I always continue to make myself available to aid clients when they are struggling at their worst.

Education & Licensure

Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I grew up around adults with autism who never knew that they were. Nobody knew — that generation was never given the language, so they went through life labeled as difficult, or odd, or just quietly struggling in areas where the right insight could have genuinely changed things for them. I think about that a lot: how much support was available in theory, and how none of it ever reached them because no one ever connected the dots. That's what pulled me into this work. Since then, I've had the privilege of working with autistic and neurodivergent individuals directly, and what strikes me most is how often I can identify strengths that everyone else has dismissed that got overlooked because people fixated on what was "wrong." I do this work because I want to be the person who connects the dots earlier: someone who can offer real insight, practical help across the areas of life where it matters, and recognition of what a client is already good at. The adults I grew up with never got that chance. My clients will.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

For me it starts with a simple reversal: most of my clients arrive knowing exactly what others think is wrong with them and very little about what's right. So that's where we begin — what they're good at, what already works, what they know about themselves that no one bothered to ask. Challenges get addressed, but as mismatches to problem-solve, not defects to correct. In the room, that means communicating in whatever way works best for each person, never treating self-regulation as a symptom, and being specific when I name strengths instead of vague. I'm not here to make anyone more neurotypical — I'm here to help them build on who they already are. My motto is to always be human first and respect each other as such from strengths upward to problem solve through life's issues.
