Jessica Mura
About
Hello and welcome! My name is Jessica Mura, and I'm a psychologist living in Queens, NYC, licensed in New York. I am committed to tailoring sessions with my clients to meet your individual needs and lived experience. With a focus on realistic approaches, I strive to meet you where you are, fostering a therapeutic environment that is both supportive and empowering. My extensive training and diverse clinical experiences have equipped me to work in various treatment settings, including community mental health centers, schools, foster care, and college counseling centers. My therapeutic approach incorporates an understanding of child and adult development, positive psychology, and my own personal and professional experiences. This holistic perspective helps clients make conscious and intentional decisions to create a fulfilling and meaningful life.
My motivation for working with autistic adults began with early family and professional experiences with the unique strengths, perspectives and contributions of neurodivergence. I value the growth that mental health and educational fields have made in supporting folks with autism/autistic adults, and recognize that as a professional, I also wish to contribute to continuing needed supports. My aim in my work with neurodivergent clients is to do my utmost in helping them feel seen, heard and empowered.
My therapeutic approach incorporates my commitment to a growth mindset, in that each individual's strengths, resilience and interests can lead to a fulfilling and meaningful life. I aim to work within a person's values of who they are hoping to become, what obstacles might meet them, and what resources this path includes for them.
