About

It's great to be here and join with you on your journey! My name is Jennifer Sanderson, and I am licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in Florida. You've taken a really big step already in trying to better understand yourself and move towards a brighter and more fulfilling future. I'm honored to collaborate with you in exploring whether your part of your individual profile of strengths, abilities, and challenges fits within the Autism Spectrum. Regardless of whether this diagnosis applies, my goal is to help you achieve an informed understanding of your current social emotional well-being, and where to go from here. Knowledge is power, and I'm here to help you gain insight about yourself to move you forward in life on your own unique path.

Education & Licensure
Doctoral Internship (Developmental Disabilities Track) and fellowship at UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior; M.S. and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University; Bachelors in Psychology from University of Florida
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I have had the privilege to work with autistic and neurodivergent clients of all ages for more than 20 years since beginning my graduate training in clinical psychology. This work has become something I'm very passionate about, and find extremely rewarding. Helping to identify what's holding someone back from reaching their fullest potential, or assisting in building skills needed for friendships, relationships, or success in school and the workplace have been both challenging and deeply fulfilling. I'm inspired by the resilience, strength, and optimism I see in autistic and neurodivergent individuals and their families who keep fighting for a better tomorrow in the face of adversity and gaps in awareness and access to quality care and support.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

You're probably here because you are experiencing some very real challenges, or are feeling "stuck" and unable to move forward. While this is important to address and explore, of even greater importance is the specific set of strengths, abilities, unique qualities and passions that you already possess. I am here to help you achieve a more balanced view of what you already bring to the table so your motivation remains high and you gain momentum to achieve your own goals and plans for a more fulfilling life.
