About
Hello and welcome! I’m Jennifer Mathews, Ph.D., a licensed clinical psychologist living in Southern Oregon. I have more than 15 years of experience working with adults in a variety of settings, including private practice, hospitals, primary care, the VA, and telehealth. My training in clinical psychology and neuropsychology has given me a deep appreciation for the many ways people think, experience the world, and navigate daily life. What continues to motivate me is getting to know each person as an individual and helping them feel understood, supported, and confident in who they are.
My interest in working with neurodivergent individuals comes from my longstanding appreciation for the complexity and individuality of how our brains work. My background in neuropsychology has taught me that differences in attention, memory, emotional processing, communication, and the way we experience the world are not simply problems to be fixed. They are part of what makes each person unique. I want to provide a space where people can better understand themselves, feel accepted for who they are, and find ways to navigate the world that work for them.
My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. Rather than focusing on what someone needs to “fix,” I believe in recognizing and building upon their existing strengths, interests, abilities, and ways of thinking. I work to understand the whole person and to help clients identify strategies that fit their individual needs and goals. My hope is that through greater self-understanding and self-acceptance, clients can feel more confident, empowered, and able to create a life that feels meaningful to them.
