About
Hello and welcome! I'm so glad you're here. My name is Janice Fairbank. I currently live in Idaho and am licensed in Idaho and Arizona, with a career built on helping people navigate life's challenges, relationships, recovery, and personal growth. After earning not one but two master's degrees, along with a collection of professional licenses that occasionally make me wonder if I enjoy continuing education a little too much, I've learned that healing rarely follows a straight line—and that's okay.
I am passionate about creating a space where you can show up exactly as you are, without judgment or pressure to have everything figured out. As a clinician, I believe that therapy works best when it combines genuine connection, practical tools, a little humor, and a healthy dose of self-compassion. My goal is to help you better understand yourself, build on your strengths, and develop the confidence to navigate whatever challenges life places in your path.
Whether you're working through anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, substance use, major life transitions, or simply feeling stuck, we'll work together to create an approach that fits your unique needs. Every person's story is different, and I consider it a privilege to walk alongside you as you move toward the life you want to create.
My passion for working with adults comes from a genuine belief that everyone deserves a space where they can feel heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. I recognize that each person's experiences, challenges, and strengths are unique, and I am committed to providing care that honors those individual differences. I strive to create a collaborative therapeutic relationship where clients feel empowered to explore their concerns, build upon their existing strengths, and develop practical tools to navigate life's challenges. My goal is to help you gain insight, foster resilience, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change so that you can move forward with greater confidence, balance, and fulfillment.
I bring an affirming and strengths-based approach to my work by focusing on the whole person rather than solely on the challenges that bring them to therapy. I believe that every client has inherent strengths, resilience, and the capacity for growth, even during difficult seasons of life. My role is to help clients recognize and build upon those strengths while developing new skills and insights to support their goals.
I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel respected, heard, and accepted as they are. Through active listening, empathy, and collaboration, I work to understand each client's unique experiences, values, and perspectives. Rather than focusing on what is "wrong," I help clients identify what is working, recognize patterns of success, and use those strengths as a foundation for meaningful and lasting change.
