About

My name is Dr. Janelle Thompson. If you are looking for answers about how you think, experience the world, or relate to others, you are not alone. Whether these questions are new or something that you have wondered about for years, my goal is to help you take the next step in your journey.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with more than 15 years of experience in psychological assessment, diagnosis, and evidence based care. I value accuracy and aim to provide evaluations that reflect this.

Education & Licensure
PsyD in Clinical Psychology from La Salle University - Philadelphia, PA; Postdoctoral Fellowship in Health Psychology/Primary Care Mental Health Integration - Phoenix VA Health Care System. Masters in Clinical Psychology from La Salle University - Philadelphia, PA; Bachelors in Psychology from Lafayette College - Easton, PA
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I have always been fascinated by the different ways people think, learn, and experience the world. As someone with ADHD, I also understand what it is like to realize that your brain works differently and how meaningful it can be to finally have an explanation that fits. That personal perspective, combined with years of clinical experience, has shaped my commitment to providing evaluations that are evidence based, respectful, and affirming. I believe that understanding yourself is empowering and can provide clarity about your next steps.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I take time to understand your experiences, strengths, and challenges, not just whether you meet diagnostic criteria for a disorder. You can expect a respectful process where your questions are welcome and your perspective matters. I will explain each step of the evaluation, review the results in clear language, and answer any questions you have along the way. Whether your evaluation confirms a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder or points toward another explanation, my hope is that you leave with greater clarity, practical recommendations, and a better understanding of yourself.
