Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

My personal journey is deeply rooted in my neurodivergence, which has shaped much of who I am today. Growing up in a small Southern town during a time when neurodivergence, especially among African American children, was not diagnosed, I often felt different without understanding why. It wasn't until adulthood that I received an ADHD diagnosis, a moment that brought clarity and a new perspective to the challenges I had faced all my life. Reflecting on those struggles and navigating a world that wasn't designed for my way of thinking has fueled my desire to support others on their path. I understand firsthand how overwhelming and isolating it can sometimes feel. My experiences have ignited a passion within me to help others find their way through the uncertainty and to advocate for greater understanding and acceptance of neurodivergence.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

Therapeutically, I predominantly employ solution-focused and strength-based approaches, which involve actively identifying and emphasizing each individual's unique strengths, talents, and abilities. I prioritize recognizing these qualities to foster confidence and resilience, tailoring interventions to support the person's growth by highlighting their existing resources and capacities. I am dedicated to creating a more inclusive and fair world where everyone has the opportunity to succeed, recognizing that each individual's path is unique and deserves compassion and support.
