About
Hello, I’m Jacqueline “Jackie” Tellez, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) based and licensed in Texas. I am passionate about creating a warm, supportive space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and resilience. My background in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling has shaped my belief that healing and growth happen through compassionate connection, practical tools, and individualized support.I understand how overwhelming life can feel during periods of change, stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, or emotional exhaustion, and I strive to help clients build balance, strengthen coping skills, and reconnect with their inner strengths. My approach is collaborative, goal-oriented, and grounded in evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and strength-based techniques. I am also currently pursuing certification in Women’s Mental Health to further support women through the unique emotional experiences they may face. Above all, I believe in meeting each client where they are and walking alongside them as they move toward healing, growth, and a more fulfilling life.
I chose this path because I’ve always been drawn to helping individuals feel understood, supported, and accepted for who they are. I recognize that many autistic and neurodivergent individuals have spent much of their lives feeling misunderstood, overlooked, or pressured to fit into environments that were not designed with their needs in mind. I wanted to create a therapeutic space where clients can feel safe being themselves without judgment. What inspires me most about working with neurodivergent clients is the opportunity to support their strengths while helping them navigate challenges such as anxiety, overwhelm, relationships, life transitions, self-esteem, and emotional regulation. I value the unique perspectives, creativity, insight, and resilience that neurodivergent individuals bring, and I believe therapy should be collaborative, affirming, and individualized to each person’s experiences and goals. As a therapist, I am committed to continuing to learn and grow in my understanding of neurodiversity so I can provide compassionate, respectful, and effective support that empowers clients to thrive in ways that feel authentic to them.
I bring an affirming and strength-based approach to my work by focusing on each client as a whole person rather than defining them by their struggles or diagnosis. I believe every individual has unique strengths, abilities, perspectives, and resilience that deserve to be recognized and nurtured. My goal is to create a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe, respected, and empowered to show up authentically. In my work with autistic and neurodivergent clients, I aim to honor each person’s individual experiences, communication style, sensory needs, and ways of processing the world. Rather than focusing on “fixing” behaviors, I work collaboratively with clients to build self-understanding, confidence, coping skills, emotional regulation, and meaningful strategies that support their personal goals and overall well-being.I strive to approach therapy with compassion, curiosity, and flexibility, recognizing that every client’s journey is different. I also value ongoing learning and self-reflection to ensure I am providing care that is neurodiversity-affirming, culturally sensitive, and grounded in respect for each client’s identity and lived experience. My hope is that clients leave sessions feeling seen, capable, and supported in building a life that aligns with who they truly are.
