About
Hello! My name is Jacki and I live and am licensed in Michigan. I truly feel as though I have the best job ever, being a therapist to neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ adults. In my work, I am committed to providing individualized, multicultural-informed, and evidence-based care to each of my clients. I am part of the LGBTQIA2S+ community and am in support of Black Lives Matter and other anti-racism movements. I strive to incorporate anti-racism and anti-capitalism values into all elements of my personal and professional life.
As someone who is also neurodivergent, I understand how hard it can be to live a life where you feel as though you just don't "get it." I understand what it is like to live questioning why things seem so much easier for others but harder for you. I am passionate about helping others work through the pain of these questions and self-doubt and find themselves. Every person deserves to feel safe and seen. Helping Autistic folks understand themselves, find peace, and be affirmed in their identity is my life's calling. I want to help you discover the peace you have deserved all along.
I work to fully help someone explore their unique traits and needs through a lens of total non-judgment. I value deconstruction of neurotypical "rules" and lead with curiosity and affirmation. Many challenges that neurodivergent folks encounter can be thought of as differences with inherent neutrality. In the same way that speaking Spanish is not "better" than speaking French or Japanese, but rather, just different. Your unique style of communication and being deserves to be explored and affirmed. I will help us explore and affirm through creating a trusting relationship, listening to understand rather than respond, and wanting to hear all about your special interests.
