About
Hello and welcome! I'm so glad you're here. My name is Iman Kee, and I currently live in Durham, North Carolina, where I am licensed as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC). With five years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, I am passionate about supporting individuals on their journey toward greater well-being and self-understanding. As a clinician, I believe in creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel truly heard and understood. My goal is to partner with you, using evidence-based approaches to help you build resilience, develop practical coping skills, and create lasting change that aligns with your values and goals. Every person's journey is unique, and I'm committed to offering care that is as individual as you are.
My motivation for working with neurodivergent clients comes from a deep respect for the many ways people think, feel, and experience the world. I am inspired by the strengths, perspectives, and resilience of the neurodivergent community, and I believe everyone deserves a space where they feel valued, understood, and empowered. Over the past five years, I've had the privilege of supporting children, adolescents, and adults, and I've seen how powerful it can be when someone is met with acceptance instead of judgment. My goal is to help you navigate challenges, build on your strengths, and develop practical skills that support your daily life and relationships. Together, we can work toward a life where you feel understood, supported, and able to thrive.
I prioritize an affirming and strengths-based approach so that every client feels seen, valued, and empowered. I believe each person brings unique strengths, perspectives, and abilities that can guide them toward their goals. Using person-centered and solution-focused approaches, I start by listening closely and validating your experiences, creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can show up as your authentic self. From there, we build on what's already working in your life, drawing on tools from CBT, DBT, and ACT to strengthen coping skills in ways that fit your values and the way your mind works. Rather than trying to "fix" who you are, I see my role as walking alongside you as you recognize your own resilience and move toward your full potential.
