About

Hello and welcome! My name is Holly Williams, and I have been a licensed psychologist in the state of Texas for more than 30 years. Over the course of my career, I have worked with people from many different backgrounds and at many different stages of life. What has always mattered most to me is helping people better understand themselves and feel comfortable talking openly about their experiences. I try to make the assessment process comfortable and straightforward so that you feel heard and respected from the very beginning.

Education & Licensure
PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of Texas, Austin; MA in clinical psychology, and BS in Psychology from Southern Methodist University, Dallas
Treatment Approach
What motivated you to specialize in working with autistic adults?

I enjoy working with autistic and neurodivergent adults because an evaluation can often help make sense of experiences someone may have wondered about for years. Many adults have learned to adapt or mask without really understanding why certain situations may feel more difficult or tiring for them. I appreciate having the opportunity to hear each person’s story, understand what has brought them to an evaluation, and help them come away with a clearer picture of themselves.

How do you bring a strengths-based, affirming approach to your client work?

I take a strengths-based approach to assessment. I want to understand the things that may be difficult for you, but I also want to know about your strengths, interests, abilities, and the ways you have learned to manage different situations throughout your life. I don’t see an evaluation as a search for what is “wrong.” I see it as a way to better understand how you experience the world and what may be helpful to you going forward.
